WreckMP is a revolutionary FREE multiplayer mod for My Summer Car which supports MSCLoader. Enjoy playing your favorite game with your friends!
HOW TO DOWNLOAD:
Proceed to the download page and follow the steps displayed there.
HOW TO PLAY:
In order to play WreckMP with your friends one of you has to be the Host and create a lobby, and everyone else is going to be a Client and join their lobby.
How to host a lobby:
1. Click PLAY
2. In the lower section labeled "Open lobby:" enter desired player limit in range 2-200. You cannot change this without restarting the lobby.
3. If you want to start on fresh save, uncheck "Use existing save game". WARNING! This will erase your current save file!
4. Click OPEN LOBBY. After you do so, the game loads and the lobby code is copied to your clipboard.
How to join a lobby:
1. Click PLAY
2. In the upper section labeled "Join lobby:" enter the lobby code you received. When the host opens the lobby, the code is copied to his/her clipboard. In case the host loses the lobby code, use the player list (more on that below)
3. Click JOIN LOBBY. When you do so, you will attempt to join the lobby and enter game. If the connection fails, you can see error in the console.
How to use the player list:
If you lost the lobby code and/or want to see the list of joined players, you can do so by holding TAB in game. While TAB is held down, the player list including lobby code will slide out from the left upper corner.
How to use the console:
The console automatically opens for a few seconds when it receives a message. If you want to reopen it and/or write something in the chat, press T to open chat.
To close the console, make sure the chatbox is empty and that you're not focused on it. The console will close automatically.
When typing in chat, one can also use the built-in commands:
- /togconsole - Toggle if console should show up by itself
- /plist - Show all connected players and their respective indexes
- /tp <player index> - Teleport to another player
There are also other commands not listed here because they are rather debug/experimental and not useful to an average user.
How to use the control panel:
The control panel is making console commands easier to use for users through a graphical interface. To open the control panel, press CTRL + O. The control panel has 4 tabs that you select from at the top of the panel. These are: Options, Voice chat, Players and Vehicles.
- Transfer protocol - Allows 3 settings; Safe, Fast and Default. This option is rather experimental and it's advised to keep it at default most of the time. This is the replacement of the /fpt command.
Default: DEFAULT
- Safe load interval - Specifies how long WreckMP waits after the game loads before loading multiplayer. On lower fps playthroughs, sometimes some vehicles would fly away when multiplayer loads, for no particular reason, and adding a slight delay fixed it. If your fps is really low, and cars still dissapear after load, you might want to increase this setting.
Default: 0.1s
- Allow console interrupt - If enabled, the console will show automatically when a message is printed. This is the replacement of the /togconsole command.
Default: enabled
- Enable client vehicles tab - If enabled, the clients will be able to use the vehicles tab too, meaning they can freely teleport vehicles. This option is only visible for the host.
Default: disabled
- Reset frozen player controls - If you can't move, click this button. It is advised to NOT click this button when you are inside driving mode of a vehicle!
- Reset lobby data - If someone tries to join you, but they get the "Lobby is still loading" error, clicking this button could fix it. This option is only visible for the host.
- Voice mode - Choose between 2 voice modes; Push to talk - Your voice only gets transmitted when you hold a key, Always on - Your voice gets transmitted whenever it exceeds a set threshold
Default: Push to talk
- Push to talk / Walkie talkie key - Allows rebinding the respective key
Default: Left Alt for push to talk, Right Alt for walkie talkie
- Input gain - Allows to boost your mic volume if you have a quiet mic
Default: 1
- Voice color - Lowers bass on your mic if it’s too boomy
Default: Off
- Input sensitivity - Specifies the loudness threshold whem your voice gets sent in the always on mode. Ideally this should be set so that your voice doesn’t get choppy when talking but nothing is transmitted while you’re speaking.
Default: -50 dB
- Playback your voice - Allows you to hear how the input gain, color and threshold sound to others. This option is only visible in game.
- Voice muffling - If enabled, the voice of other players will be muffled when they are e.g. behind a wall
Default: enabled
This tab lists all the connected players. For each of the players you can use the following buttons:
- Resend savegame - If someone joins, and they are stuck in the menu waiting for the savegame, you can try resending it with this button. This option is only visible for the host. This is a replacement for the /ssg command.
- Teleport to - Clicking this button will teleport you to the position of the target player. This is a replacement for the /tp command.
For every player there is also a label next to the Resend savegame button, which can be useful to diagnose issues. The first word specifies the status of the connection. The word in the curly brackets specifies whether you have a direct connection to the player or whether it's relayed through the Steam network.
This tab is only visible for host, unless Enable client vehicles tab option in the Options tab is enabled. This tab lists all the registered vehicles and for each vehicle you can use the following buttons:
- Reset driving mode - If the driving mode gets stuck in any way, e.g. it doesn't show "ENTER DRIVING MODE" while nobody is driving, you can use this button to reset it. It is advised to NOT do this while somebody is actively driving a vehicle, as it could cause issues. This is a replacement for the /resetdm command.
- Teleport here - Teleports the vehicle in front of you. Can be useful if a vehicle flies away, although that shouldn't happen anymore. Be careful to not teleport a vehicle in a wall or other solid object!
